The landscape of academic research is shifting in ways that will have direct and indirect impacts on many, if not all, of us. The recently proposed policy changes pose serious challenges to the way we fund, conduct, and sustain scientific inquiry and discovery. We recognize the uncertainty this brings and want to acknowledge that this is a difficult time for members of our community.
